A study on e-scooter injuries was conducted in two major hospitals in Southern California. It showed that of the 249 people that were rushed to the emergency room, 92% were riders themselves, and only 4% of riders wore helmets. Pedestrians who were struck by scooter riders or who stumbled over scooters lying on the sidewalk were also included. 40% of those injured experienced head injuries, 32% experienced fractures, and 27% had cuts, bruises and sprains. Most people were tre...ated and released, but 15 required overnight stays in the hospital and two required admission to the intensive care unit. The study goes to show that injuries among e-scooter riders are quite prevalent and can sometimes be serious. We urge riders to take extreme precaution when riding an e-scooter. If you are involved in an accident and were intoxicated, the insurance company will contend that you were impaired and the cause of the accident was your negligence rather than their fault. It is important that you still have a lawyer review your case to determine whether the accident could have been prevented regardless of whether you were intoxicated.

At least 2 people were killed and 4 were seriously injured in a 2-car collision near the CSUN campus. Officials said speeding may be the main cause of the accident. A witness said he heard a sports car speeding down the street when it lost control and crashed into another car. The passenger of the sports car died at the scene while the driver later died at the hospital. Both were described to be in their 50s or 60s. The 3 passengers and driver of the other car all survived but sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital.

Yes, it is always important to have the best insurance coverage possible. It is especially helpful to have uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage as you can still recover for injuries sustained in an accident even if the other driver is uninsured. If you don't have any insurance and you sustain an injury, it will limit your recovery.
