Are you ready to ditch 2020? This year has been a struggle, maybe you’ve lost a massive amount of weight before, but recently gained some back this year due to all the additional stressors? It’s very common for people to think that unless they lose dozens of pounds, they will not be any healthier. This is a misconception. Studies have shown that health benefits resulting from weight-loss are evident with a weight reduction as low as 5-10 percent. This means that an individual... that weighs 200 pounds will benefit greatly from losing 10 to 20 pounds. The program is a 5-week program and includes: ~Weekly weigh-in on Friday or Saturday between 8:30-10:30 ~Virtual Facebook Live Group meetings on Friday and Saturday @ 11:00am. ~There are 4 ways of getting points including losing weight, inches, and body fat percentage, and MINI CHALLENGES! ~We will be focusing on our new protocol enhancements this year which will help individualize your specific weight loss needs that take into account your activity level, weight, bf%, and goals. ~The program requires you to purchase 21 protein meals each week & all supplementation for you to be successful. Every week there will be a mini-challenge for BONUS points! ~Each week I will teach you a new nutrition principal and answer all your questions. You will also have access to the 5 Week Rest Challenge Facebook group. Here is the best part THIS IS A CHALLENGE! The participant with the most points at the end of the program will win a $300 gift certificate to purchases at Modern Life Nutrition. Additionally, anyone who participates and reaches the goal of reducing 5% body mass reduction for the year will win something special from us! The program enrollment is FREE for current and past clients. (Excluding protein foods & Supplements) If you have friends or family that want to start, our initial program will cost $295 ($100 savings) for the January Challenge Only! Quick question: Do you want to lose the extra weight gain from this year and reclaim your health? If so, you need to get registered for this amazing challenge! This 5-week reset challenge will: Educate you on our new protocol enhancements - which will help individualize your specific weight loss needs that take into account your activity level, weight, bf%, and goals.... Teach you new nutrition principles. Provide you with support and accountability. Sound good? We can’t wait to get started on January 8th & 9th! While we are waiting to get the party started I want to share about what an exciting year it's been for Modern Life Nutrition. Our protocol has gone through some amazing changes and critical updates geared towards protocol enhancements based on new science. We are going to focus on realistically decreasing your body mass by 5% during the 5-week challenge. The research shows us that we get significant benefits when we achieve this. For example, when someone starts at 200lbs and loses 10lbs they decrease their body mass by 5%. These benefits include: Improve blood glucose Improve cholesterol Improve blood pressure Improve joint pain Improve liver enzymes Improve digestion Reduce inflammation This will be a virtual/hybrid model for your safety since we can’t be in large groups this year. We will connect inside of the Facebook accountability group and during the LIVE Facebook weekly meetings @ 11:00am Friday and Saturday. In-person Pick-up: food/supplements, Phase 1 Sheet & handouts during Friday or Saturday from 8:30-10:30AM Ship: ship food/supplements and send digital files for phase 1 files, but you will need one of our remote scales to participate in the challenge. I am really looking forward to connecting as I have been mostly virtual for the past 8 months. So get in on the action! Regardless of if your goal is losing weight, building muscle, getting back in shape, or defining your abs, calorie and carb cycling can be an effective way to achieve this when nutritional deficiencies are taken care of. The carb and calorie cycling approach is simple and based on your activity levels. On the days you’re not lifting weights days that are lower intensity, or shorter easier workouts. You will eat a base diet of mostly protein, veggies, and healthy fats with minimal carbs. On the days you are lifting weights days that have high-intensity workouts, you want to add starchy carbs to your baseline diet.

Here are some signs to watch out for that may suggest you aren’t taking in enough calories: Moodiness - Being hangry is typically one of the very first signs that you aren’t taking in enough calories. Weakness - Calories are how we measure the energy food provides our body. Without this energy, your body will start feeling weak and you simply won't function quite as well. Constant Headaches - Headaches from lack of calorie intake are typically due to low blood glucose, or y...our sugar levels becoming too low. This is also known as hypoglycemia. Constipation - If you aren’t eating enough you aren’t taking in enough fiber, which means you have less insulin coming from your pancreas. Lack of insulin leads to water loss. Which in turn leads to constipation. You’re losing your hair - Hair loss could indicate that you haven't been eating enough over an extended period. Always cold - Your body thinks that you are starving so it's going to lower your resting metabolic rate and you are going to start to get cold because you aren't making heat. See more

Have you ever heard of Gaucher Disease? Gaucher Disease is the result of a buildup of certain fatty substances in certain organs, particularly your spleen and liver. This causes these organs to enlarge and can affect their function. The fatty substances also can build up in bone tissue, weakening the bone and increasing the risk of fractures. Gaucher’s Disease is shown to increase inflammation throughout the body. A natural way to help reduce this inflammation is by changing... diet and exercise. Focus on eating a more natural diet to support a healthy immune system, and practice exercise to gain more strength and flexibility. The health professionals at Modern Life Nutrition want to help you figure out the best way to manage your health obstacles by providing you with the knowledge and resources that will aid in supporting all systems of your body. High Blood Pressure? Here are some tips to help lower it naturally. Quit Smoking - Each cigarette you smoke increases your blood pressure for many minutes after you finish. Stopping smoking helps your blood pressure return to normal. Cut Back on Caffeine - The role caffeine plays in blood pressure is still debated. Caffeine can raise blood pressure up to 10 mm Hg in people who rarely consume it. But people who drink coffee regularly may experience little or no effect o...n their blood pressure. Reduce Stress - Occasional stress also can contribute to high blood pressure if you react to stress by eating unhealthy food, drinking alcohol, or smoking. Try to avoid stress triggers and find some new coping mechanisms to deal with everyday stress. Monitor Blood Pressure at home & Consult your Doctor regularly - Home monitoring can help you keep tabs on your blood pressure, make certain your lifestyle changes are working, and alert you and your doctor to potential health complications. Get Support - Supportive family and friends can help improve your health. They may encourage you to take care of yourself, drive you to the doctor's office or embark on an exercise program with you to keep your blood pressure low. See more

A moderator can have just a little bit of something and be okay with it, but an abstainer has to eliminate things entirely. If you're a self-declared abstainer, wishing you could be a moderator, my first recommendation would be to change your identity - start thinking of yourself as a moderator. Which do you think you are? How is it affecting your diet?

"Brent and Ideal Protein have worked wonders for me where all other "fads" have failed. The combination of diet and most importantly nutritional counseling has helped me shed over 50lbs the past 6 months. No more medications, feeling great, and just ran my first 1/2 marathon. Never would have been in the position to do this without this type of support. Highly recommended!" - Matthew B.
