DON’T FORGET TO EXFOLIATE Sunday is the perfect day to exfoliate. Somehow Sunday has a couple of extra hours in it or maybe less things to do. So we often pick Sunday as our selfcare day. Making it the perfect day to scrub off those dead skin cells... Today I am using the Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial from Youth to the People. I’ve been super excited to try it. Use a quarter size amount, add a little bit of water, apply to face. It has a nice thick texture, a little bit of grain and something in it heats up the skin. It was lovely. IT'S MY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. Today Todd and I have been married for 8 years. I don't tell you this for any kind of adulation or congratulations. I tell you this to honor the most supportive and encouraging person in my life. I could not have established my skincare business without his help and I am grateful every day.... I feel incredibly lucky as Todd never teased me or made me feel like what I was doing was a hobby or "not a real job". When I first starting working for myself he generously sacrificed a room in our house so I wouldn't haven't to incur the expense of a rental space. When we moved we found a house with a separate unit that could accommodate a facial business and not interrupt our living space. Although Todd does not take advantage of my services, he asks every day if I have appointments booked, what time they are at, and who are they with. He rarely knows my clients by face but he knows each of them by name. I could never have had my business without him. I appreciate him so much and feel fortunate to have him in my life. Happy Anniversary Todd. And thank you for everything.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN ESTHETICIAN WHEN... I had the craziest dream last night. I dreamt that a new product call Think Think was selling its hyaluronic acid serum for $1. Everyone was going bonkers for it. But when I felt it I could tell it was made with dimethicone rather than hyaluronic, which was why the company was trying to dump it. ... I kept going back and forth with an esthetician college because she thought it was amazing and I thought it was not great for the skin. I woke up laughing about how very passionate I was about my perspective about this product. And how incredibly detailed the dream was. I am guessing my subconscious was telling me a story because I had been listening to a podcast about the ability to understand a product by reading the ingredient deck and the host and the guest disagreed on parts of the subject. Clearly, I am super into ingredients and formulation and how they help or hurt the skin. I am constantly researching the topic and every day I learn more and more about it. My goal is to share what I learn with you, to help you make smart educated decisions about your skincare products, and to take the fear and confusion out of the process. Can't wait to see what I dream about tonight.

I LOVE recommending products for you to try. But I also love to try products you recommend to me. For this Exfoliation Sunday, I am going to try the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel pads. ... A client of mine swears by them and I was able to get a little 3-pack by using 100 points with my recent Sephora order. TGIF! I do love Fridays. Or more truthfully, I don't actually love Fridays. On Fridays, I tend to feel the least motivated to get anything done. I really just want to play: ... -scroll Instagram -read dumb emails -play with Bubba and Mackenzie -drink cocktails early -chat on the phone with friends and family So when I created my weekly schedule at the beginning of the year, I made Friday my "play" day. Although I still do work stuff, I try to make it all the stuff I want to do and not what I "have" to do. In before times, Todd would always work the latest on Fridays so I made sure I kept myself busy so I didn't feel like I was "waiting" for him to come home. So to make Fridays a day I love, I do stuff that makes me happy: -a recurring socially distanced walk date with a girlfriend in the morning -Making Home Facial Kits -Schedule Coaching calls -Have a friend catch-up call -Anything else on my to-do list that seems fun Then I have that cocktail around 5pm. That seems reasonable, right? Right now I am scrolling through Instagram and then I am off to make some Home Facial Kits. SKINCARE ROUTINE TIP My primary goal is for your skin to be gorgeous and glowing. Achieving gorgeous and glowing skin doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming.... With a little consistency using your skincare products, you can see improvements quickly. Here's a time-saving tip that you can do every day that will save you time and provide results. *After your cleanse, add your serum, moisturizer, AND sunscreen into your hand, mix them together (but don't rub them in), and then tap each section of your face and spread the products evenly over your face. *(apply any extra product on your neck and chest) I really want to make your skincare life easier. Exfoliation will solve all your problems. I mean it will address your skincare concerns. How often and with what do you exfoliate?

I would say I am 98% good at washing my face 2x a day. Mornings are never a problem because I always need clean eyes before I put in my contact lenses. But nighttime... that cleanse is always a struggle. On today's Tuesday Tutorial, I discuss when it's ok to skip a cleanse and the best practice for how to skip without undoing the hard work of keeping your skin glowy.
