The Mlangarini Project is asking for donations to help us respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in Tanzania. The Tanzanian government has stopped reporting COVID-19 cases since April 29th (New York Times), but our trusted friends in Tanzania have communicated the severity and pervasiveness of the virus. Currently, the health dispensary in Mlangarini lacks all protective equipment and is sending all COVID-19 cases to Mt. Meru Government hospital in Arusha. Our friend of twelve ye...ars is a nurse at this hospital and reports that the only protective equipment available is gloves and surgical masks. This is insufficient, as no healthcare worker has the protective equipment required to safely interact with or treat patients. We are raising money so that we can purchase proper protective equipment in Tanzania and donate it to Mt. Meru Hospital.
