"Little Tokyo Eats" - Friday's dinner for seniors living in Little Tokyo was GACHA from Mitsuru Sushi & Grill. A lot of English speakers don't know what "gacha..." is and imagine how hard it was trying to describe the dish in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Spanish on the order forms. Does anyone know the ingredients? The origins of this dish? What country, culture or cuisine?

These days, I feel like a personal shopper every Wednesday and Saturday, with donors trusting us to buy meals and share food. This week is our 6th week of www.l...ittletokyola.org/cfc. Over 1600 meals distributed, purchased from 48 restaurants. You can still donate, or donate again! We spend all the money on food that you wish you were eating. Don't worry! Someone will enjoy it for you! Also.... I now know about Beef Stew days at Mitsuru Sushi & Grill, Kalbi bowls from Kinjiro, and an occasional sausage donut from Cafe Dulce. I mean, how can I recommend it if I don't eat it?? I promised photos and lots of appreciation, so here are just a few of the meals / photos from the last few weeks. "I'll take 120 Chicken Karaage to go!" Mitsuru Sushi & Grill has been around for 40 years. Like other mom-and-pop's, Mitsuru was hard-hit by the COVID-19 mandat...e that prohibited dining in. Little Tokyo Eats concluded Week 8 by delivering Yakisoba and Gyoza prepared by Mitsuru Sushi & Grill to the seniors in Little Tokyo today. We're doing this to... help local restaurants keep their doors open during COVID-19 restrictions and to ensure that seniors stuck at home have some delicious home-delivered meals to look forward to.
