Police officers are peace keepers, the guardians standing between the innocent and violence and lawlessness, and sentinels who see evil coming from a far and lead the charge to look for good. They are the "Thin Blue Line" that stands tall to separate law and order from chaos. Police officers routinely risk their lives in the high stakes gamble of protecting society. They do a job that we all want and need done though very few of us possess the bravery and skill to do. And the... amazing thing is, they do this job and ask for little in return. To our law enforcement: We say thank you for your service. Without you, we could not do our job helping protect businesses, homes and families. We are eternally grateful for the job that you do in enforcing the law and keeping people safe. May God bless and watch over each of you. #policeweek #nationalpoliceweek #thinblueline #lawenforcement #missionprotectionsystems #orovillepolicedepartment #buttecountysheriff See more

It’s that time of year again to move those clocks ahead an hour before going to bed tonight! The mornings might be darker, but we can all look forward to longer days filled with sunshine. With Spring approaching, there are a few bi-annual tasks you can do to get your home ready. 1. Change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Also, make sure the devices are properly working. Any smoke detectors older than ten years should be replaced with new ones. ...Flames can consume a house in just as little as five minutes, and the risk of dying in a fire is cut in half in homes with properly working smoke detectors. 2. Take stock of your medicine cabinet and pantry. Now is a great time to declutter your stash of food and medical supplies. Toss out any expired items or take any left over unused prescription medications to your local pharmacy to be recycled. Do not flush them! 3. Vacuum your dryer’s vent and ducts. Lint lodged in vent pipes, the space behind the dryer or outside your home can often be a source of dryer fires. Your vacuum’s crevice tools can help get the job done. 4. Replace and clean the air filters around your home. Inspect the filters in your heater and air conditioning units to make sure the units are still running properly. Now is also a good time to check the HEPA filter in your vacuum and the water filter in your fridge. 5. Check your emergency kit. If you’ve depleted your supply of flashlight batteries, bandages, and other just-in-case items over the past few months, use this time to restock. 6. Test your Mission Protection System’s installed alarm system. Call our central station at 800.932.3822 and ask to put your system on test. This is also a good time to make sure your Mission Protection yard signs and window decals are in good shape. If they need to be replaced, give us a call or send us an email at [email protected].
