I was really saddened to hear about the passing of Arcelio Garcia, especially so soon after we lost Jorge Santana. my group La Gente SF had the pleasure to shar...e the stage with Amg Original Malo and I also have been blessed to introduce them several times at festivals and venues. Arcelio had an amazing voice and stage presence and is definitely a legend and inspiration, especially for Latino musicians from the Bay. He was always gracious, generous with his time and knowledge to us younger musicians carrying the torch. His family has set up a gofundme to cover funeral and accrued medical expenses. I just realized yesterday would have been MAPP Mission Arts Performance Project. Its surreal that an event I have attended and help organize for more than a dec...ade has been on hold. The last MAPP I performed at was February 1st @ Radio Habana (Social Club) with La Diaspora Fest. Ironically Tonight Sunday June 7th, I will be livestreaming Rafa Live From the Quarantine Radio Habana Sessions Every Sunday. at 8:00pm sharp!
