At Mission1Race, we believe in listening, approaching, and having a conversation with others who are being hurtful, derogatory, demeaning, and even racist. The goal is to understand - does that person know what they're saying and the potential impact of their perceived words? Have a conversation, let both sides provide insight, and relay how you both feel in the instance, as ...that dialogue leads to a #connection and a #relationship. It may be an "agree to disagree" or "you live your life and I'll live mine" style of relationship, but there's power in diffusing hurtful remarks and actions between two people.
