Mission Social Club

In attempt to bring back the MSC and the community meeting, a block party has been proposed. Today I had public hearing to meet with city officials in an attempt to organize a block party. To my surprise two people from my street show up to protest it. After a few back and fourths, I was reminded of some 90's comedy where the WASP man says "This means war!". So far we say it's been a learning process in community organizing, so we're not done yet. And I totally wish Ron Swanson was at my hearing, he would have asked me what kind of meat and how much of it would I be grilling. So the approval has been on hold until more details are straightened out. The question then becomes do you try to work within the system or outside of it?
