Even if we never left San Diego, we have been affected by globalization - we will explore how food, fashion, health, family, social movements, and more are globalized. For example, over 97% of clothing and shoes sold in the U.S. are now made overseas. We will examine why that is, whether it is good or bad, and how people are affected by it across the globe. Projects include making a zine (a booklet featuring writing and images) about the globalization of a food you love and completing a service-learning assignment on a topic of your choice - no exams!
