Miracle Ranch Horse Rescue 08.07.2021

So Blessed to have the opportunity to work with Lucky the Super Shetland today. He’s defensive and tight lipped and has a quick response and a bit of a stubborn streak. Thankfully, he’s good about not trampling me. He helped me walk up the hills and I helped him stay calm and focused. Great first day together!

Everyone LOVES a good rescue success story, ya? We recently received a most heart-warming update about Steve, who has a new life and a new name: RANGO!!! Rango is well loved by a wonderful family in Fort Bragg, and is enjoying an adventurous life of trail riding. His mom writes: I do’t think of him as a rescue, he's just my horse, my copilot, my partner. He's a good boy and just wants to please. ... We both had journeys to get to each other, but I wouldn't change it because it lead me to him. We will be going to a Buck Brannaman Clinic next month. We haul all the time to the ranch in the valley, we havent gathered cows, but we did ride up into the hills and we came across cows. He seems interested. He does great in creeks, streams, lakes, not so sure about the ocean. He doesnt like how the water comes at him, but we're working on that. I could probably go on forever about his little and big accomplishments and the gr highs we still need to work on along with his little quirks. Some of you know that this is the horse that I fell off of and fractured my back. I was so worried about him, but I prayed and payed and visualized him in his perfect home. Whatta Blessing to heat and see this update. Prayers do come through! I knew that would be the case, I didn’t call it Miracle Ranch for nothing! We were able to successfully rescue, rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome 8 horses. I’d call that a success! Lots was learned, and we look forward to future endeavors pairing horses and humans for the betterment of all. Thanks and Praises for your thoughts and prayers!!!

Miracle Ranch Merry is thriving in her new home! So pleased to visit and see she's not only working nicely under saddle, but she's become an integral part of the cutest sweetest family ever. This rescue endeavor hasn't been easy, but a successful rehoming sure does feel Ahmazing! Praying that Cooper and Zora find their forever homes soon as well!

Broken Back and Evictions: Horses Need Homes! Please Help!!! Many of you have heard that I had a bad riding accident in early December in which I fractured 11 vertebrae in my back. Recently I was given a 30-day eviction notice by the owner from the ranch which was based upon me not completing clean-up during the weeks I was hospitalized for my back injury.... I am leaving for Hawaii, ASAP as I have connections there and I have a strong knowing that being in water will help me heal. All of my doctors have agreed that water healing is my best option but I live in a rural district where this is not possible. I am now six weeks past accident and facing evictions from both my home and the ranch where I've been rescuing horses. I was planning on keeping the horses healthy and happy with my superstar volunteer Kim agreeing to take charge while I heal in Hawaii. Then came the eviction notice. This was spurred on by the owner's dog attacking my dog, a whole 'nother story! Sorry for the over-explanation, but, here's where I'm at: I have two beloved horses that either need wonderful, caring, knowledgeable homes or at least a safe and inexpensive place to be while I heal. I did name the ranch Miracle Ranch, and I am looking for a couple of such Miracles right now. I have been hearing some "backlash" about how "irresponsible" it is for me to go on "vacation" while I've got animals in my care. This isn't about going on vacation, it is about healing so that I can get back to working to support myself. If anyone who knows me would like to speak to me personally about what I'm facing and the decisions I am making, I am more than happy to do so. Pointing fingers and condemning is not helpful at all! Finding homes for my two remaining and much loved mares is. May all beings be loved and respected.
