Waking up I smile. 24 band new hours are before me. I vow to life fully in each moment and look at all beings with eyes of compassion ~Thich Nhat Hanh #gatha #selflove #selfcare #love #present #presentmoment #compassion #allbeings #buddhism #zen #plumvillage #thichnhathanh

Our days are more pleasant when we are present for them.

Gotta look for the happy moments in order to have them. It's hard to be happy if we are always noticing the things that are other than we want them to be. It might even be impossible. So we practiced noticing what's going well for us, what Thich Nhat Hanh calls the non-toothache, or what doesn’t suck as my dear friend Karen would say. And then we enjoy it or we appreciate that it doesn’t suck. #happiness #happinessisachoice #gratitude #grateful #attitudeofgratitude https://mindfulness4stressreduction.com//how-to-create-ha/
Are you creating your own happiness? I'd love to hear how. Happiness is always available in the present moment, if we only remember. Thich Nhat Hanh teaches us to dwell happily in the present moment. I've found, that if I remember to look for it, there is always something to be happy for! #happiness #presentmoment
Simple pan fried boneless chicken thighs. Sometimes this is what #selfcare looks like. Taking the time to cook what the heart, mind and body needs.
I just ran for the bus and I made it. There's so much I want to say about it. First the gratitude that I feel in my body for having made the bus. I feel a warmth and tingling in my heart and chest. There's also a feeling of warmth throughout my body due to running a couple of blocks. Gratitude is there also for the fact that my body allows me to run. There's been knee pain on and off for the last three years and sometimes running a block or two aggravates that. In addition I am inspired to write about walking meditation. There's a great Tibetan practice of counting the steps as we walk that I was able to employ as I was running so that the run was more nourishing and not feeding The habit energy of rushing. But I guess I'll wait for another post to talk about that walking practice. Thanks for reading.
Everybody's doing it. Where and how are you meditating? Maybe not hanging upside down on the 2. But I bet you've got some cool informal mindfulness moments to share about. (Thank you New Yorker)
