Clean green holiday trees can be turned into valuable compost & mulch. Don't forget to tree-cycle resposibily! Residential Customers: MSI will collect clean green trees for composting on your regular service day between January 4-15. Please remove all decorations, plastic bags, lights, and the stand. Cut tree in half if taller than 6 feet. Place your tree at the curb by 6 a.m. on your service day. Smaller trees cut into small pieces may be placed in your green Yard Trimmings... Cart. Flocked trees accepted, but will not be composted; artificial trees not accepted. Multi-Family Customers: MSI will collect clean green trees for composting between January 4-15. (1) Complexes with a large number of holiday trees can request a debris box for collection. Building Management may reservice a holiday tree debris box by contacting us at: 408-988-4500 or completing the form available here: https://www.milpitassanitation.com/holiday/. (2) Complexes with centralized collection services can designate a collection area for trees during the two weeks listed above. Do not block access to your collection carts and/or bins.
