That's a wrap on our Fall Intersession! 6th graders had a wonderful week doing our "Learning to Learn" course. Students explored concepts about the brain, learning and memory, study strategies and growth mindset. They applied this learning to a personal learning project where they chose either a new skill or set of knowledge to learn over the course of the week. It's Quest Culmination week! To kick us off, 6th graders in Abigail's STEM Quest, "Will Artificial Intelligence Make the World More Fair?," shared their chatbots with a huge turnout of family members and visiting experts. These students spent the term learning about fairness, learning, and decision-making in both humans and machines. For their project culmination, they coded a chatbot that teaches the user various types of biases. We also heard from a stellar student panel, who answered questions about bias, artificial intelligence, and the fate of the world.
