MSE would like to congratulate attorneys Richard Watters and Lyndsie Russell on their jury verdict against the City of Firebaugh and Hiller Aircraft Corporation. This was the first civil jury in Fresno County post-Covid. The jury found that the property was a dangerous condition of public property as nine cement barricades were placed on the City's right-of-way funneling semi-truck/tractor trailers onto private property where Hiller Aircraft Corporation attempted to charge... $50 for utilizing their property to turn around. The jury also found Hiller Aircraft Corporation's property was dangerous as they placed the barricades and other objects on their own property to prevent semi-trucks from turning around. Additionally, the jury found that Hiller Aircraft Corporation's general manager, while in the course and scope of his employment, was negligent for starting a physical altercation with the plaintiff that resulted in the plaintiff being pinned down while he was ran over by a semi-truck. Plaintiff was 24 years old at the time of his injuries and was working as a long haul truck driver. Following the accident, he spent approximately two months in the ICU at Community Regional Medical Center and an additional four months at hospital rehabilitation facilities. #mseattorney Richard Watters recently reached a $5,000,000 settlement in the wrongful death case of a Cal Fire captain. Paul Rotondaro was driving eastbound on State Route 140 to an overtime assignment at the Mariposa Cal Fire station. An employee of Kings Rehabilitation Center attempted to pass another vehicle traveling westbound and pulled in front of Mr. Rotandaro’s vehicle killing both drivers.
