Our office will be closed for the weekend for Christmas. Molly wants to join us in wishing our clients, staff and two & four footed family and friends a wonderful holiday full of cuddles, tummy rubs and tasty treats!
While we love the fact that Pippin's owners found a cute way to keep him from licking his wounds, Pippin wants to remind you that sweets and pets do not mix. Not only do donut shaped collars make a pet grumpy but chocolates, non-sugar sweeteners and even the wrappers they come in can be dangerous to your pets - please make sure you keep your pets safe (and inside) this Halloween.
A first Halloween for our patient Gwinnie! She wants to remind you to keep your pets indoor and safe from noises and strangers this weekend. Also keep pets away from chocolate, sugar free candies and gum, and to watch for choking hazards with costumes, bags, etc.
Spreading some puppy love during the stress of the quarantine Happiness is four healthy 8 week old Shih-tzus
So proud of our staff for working hard through the quarantine. Their dedication to clients and pets despite increased risks to them is amazing. Shout out Yolo County Mask Makers for the masks
As Maggie gazes at the holiday lights we wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. As a reminder our office will be closed Tues afternoon through Thursday so we can enjoy the holidays with our families. We will re-open on Friday Dec 27th
Happy Thanksgiving to all our clients and patients of Midtown Animal Hospital. We will be closed Thursday and Friday to celebrate with our families.
How do we break the news to 120 lb Finn that he no longer is a lap dog? Luckily his owner obliges :)
Happy Fall Greetings! Today we had a visit from a new patient I think we can all say that Phillip here is "Totes adorb" :P
One of our cutest patients, Rogelio, hopes everyone enjoys the Labor Day Weekend As a reminder, our office will be closed on Monday.
They say when you live together you start looking alike Pickles joins us in warning our clients to protect your pets from the heat that is coming this weekend. Outside pets should have plenty of water and shade and definitely do not leave them in parked cars - these can be ovens even with windows open
Coco is sporting the red-white-and blue and she joins us in wishing our clients a safe 4th of July. Recommend pets be kept inside these next few days. If out and about make sure collars are tight and ID tags are secure. Our clinic will be closed Thursday.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we will be closed on Saturdays and have cancelled boarding through April. We are still available for urgent care appointments, prescriptions and food pick ups Mon - Fri: 9 - 6 pm
To Midtown Animal Hospital clients: Due to developing circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, including adhering to social distancing and limiting public gatherings, we're altering our patients receiving schedule. Priority given to urgent and sick pets. ... We will be operating on a limited patient receiving basis and will be concentrating on prioritizing more urgent and sick pet appointments. Wellness visits, even though encouraged, may have to be postponed several days to a week and fit in on a space available basis and your patience and understanding is appreciated. In an effort to adhere to social distancing guidelines, please bring no more than one person into the building with your animal. We will try to usher clients directly into separate exam rooms to try and avoid congregating in the front lobby. Due to the high demand for prescription food, we ask temporarily that if at all possible to notify us about needing more pet food by Thursday of each week so we can reserve your food order for the Monday delivery. IMPORTANT: If you're feeling under the weather yourself, we ask you to please take very special precautions. - Arrange for someone else to bring your pet in, or - If your pet is scheduled for a wellness visit and isn’t sick, please call us to reschedule your appointment. You won’t be penalized for canceling an appointment due to illness or possible exposure. Thank you very much for working with us while we find ways to continue caring for our patients while keeping everyone healthy and safe.

To our clients: We have not been recommending grain free diets for over a year due to this pending investigation into cause/corrolation of these diets with heart disease in dogs. This weekend the FDA released the brands that are so far implicated with this problem. There is still a lot of unknowns here. So we are NOT advising to stop using these brands, just stop using the grain-free diets. https://www.fda.gov//fda-investigation-potential-link-betw
Urgent Alert for our clients: Canine Influenza is back after disappearing for a year We diagnosed 2 cases this week from pets from a local boarding facility. Vets are seeing cases in the Bay Area too. Recommending owners consider restarting Influenza boosters if dogs hang out in high dog density areas (dog parks, any boarding facilities, etc)
Had a visit today from this 57 pound beauty. Let's just say Michi was not here for a nail trim!
