Sadly, this account is true and all too familiar. This isn't a couple of unusual bad apples. This is a pandemic within Le enforcement and DA's Offices everywhere. I'm encouraged by the truthful and unwavering stand contained in this story.

Another day, another win! ‘ dismissed: RN and Nurse Practitioner charged with DUI- Drugs because of accident and field sobriety tests. Court found the officer failed to have even the most basic training, education and experience to tell if someone was on drugs, prescription or otherwise.

Just as important as reform at the arrest level, we must demand changes during the prosecution and trial level. The jury system is broken. Both black and Hispanic communities, mostly due to economic circumstances, rarely show up for jury duty. When they do, they are almost always dismissed for economic reasons. During these times of court closures, this office will remain open. In order to assist the court in keeping as many people away from the court as possible we will be reducing fees so that we can appear on cases for those currently representing themselves. If you’re are over 65, we will appear in court and continue your case for free of charge within Kern County. If you are under 65, please contact us to appear. There will be a significantly reduced fee involved but it will be based on services needed and not on full retainers amounts saving those representing themselves thousands of dollars.
