Starting Charging Diagnostic: this test the battery, alternator and Starter. The Battery holds a charge that when U turn the key or start button it supplied power to turn the Starter which is just a powerful motor with a gear on the end that engages the flexplate or flywheel. The alternator charges the battery and when the engine is running supplies power to run the engine and all the other items that require electrical power. When the battery no longer holds a full charge due to age or failure then it may damage the starter by overheating or damage the alternator.
