Have you been wondering why, all of a sudden, I have been posting these little maps telling you all about recent bicycle rides I have been taking? I have begun ...training for an annual event that has taken place since May of 2002. It is a 545 mile ride that takes place over 7 days raising money and awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This organization puts money directly into the hands of those who need medicine, programs services.....whatever. Over the years in my work as an acupuncturist I have treated so many people in various stages of this disease and am honored to be able to give my time and effort in a way that will continue to contribute to this wonderful community. AIDS is not over In California alone there are 151,000 people living with HIV. Nationally, 70 percent of all new infections occur in communities of color and people under the age of 25 are increasingly affected. Last year the ride raised around $16 million for everything from research to groceries. Please consider donating to this amazing cause in a time when we all need something bigger than us to support.
