Photo Credit: @Paul Harty Mountain Home Village is looking safe from the #ElDoradoFire as of 9/7/2020 looking South, Toward Yucaipa from Mill Creek Road. Special thank you to all of the firefighters on call for this.
9/10/2020 Update on the #eldoradofire MHV and FF remain strong and standing. The fire crossed HWY 38 as the winds picked up yesterday afternoon. Firefighters were able to save any homes that were burning, or at risk in FF, and MHV has not had any homes burn. Sams Hill, above Loch Leven did catch fire when it crossed the highway, but again, our firefighters have been diligent in keeping the camp safe.... Angelous Oaks was evacuated yesterday after the fire crossed, but they remain safe with no structures burnt. Thank you to all of the firefighters in California, they are true heroes. We wish everyone a calming day and thank you for all or the support you have shown to our Mountain Communities. Please follow this link for the current status or updates on this fire. https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7148/
Let's please only relay Known fire facts and not speculate like, "Forest Falls is burning, da de da
Current status on the #ElDoradoFire There is very little wind in the canyon this morning. All of the homes in MHV are safe, and the fire has not crossed the creek. Firefighters have set up a defense space and are continuing to monitor the fire on the mountain side of the creek. Thank you to all of the community members who are keeping us updated, and to all of the firefighters protecting our homes.

~ This is a map of significant Native American villages of the region. If you can blow up, see the village "NILENGLI" to the west of Mt. San Bernardino ~~ So we have the name of a village that was in Mill Creek Canyon. I named a part off my yard Nilengli.
~This weekend is going to have nearly 100-degree days and full moon = gazillions in the creek. We need to set up Neighborhood Watch stuff. protocol, etc. Too bad there are not any "NO FIRES" signs attached to the poles or signs at the pullouts. Already about four fires down there in the past few weeks.
