While working today I was overwhelmed by gratitude for the clinical director I had early in my career who was threatened by my existence and for the executive director who not once, but twice turned a blind eye. As a result,I quit my job and started my private practice before I truly believed I was ready, but I couldn’t survive in that environment any longer. If not for them I wouldn’t be where I am today and I LOVE where I am today. I love what I do and how I get to do it. ...So now I can fully appreciate that their bullshit was not about me and my value will never be completely tied up with someone else. Full disclosure - it took a minute to get here..this place of gratitude. I certainly spent some time in a place of anger, hurt, revenge, etc. This place feels a lot better. #gratitude #therapist #Imgrowing

On October 13, 2020 Inertia DeWitt closed the chapter on her associate journey and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist!! {insert } Those who know, understand that journey was filled with roadblocks and f*ckery, but she persevered. I was lucky enough to witness the tail end of her journey through a wonderful set of circumstances. Becoming her supervisor actually forced me to do things differently and opened up opportunities I wouldn’t have explored on my own. Thi...s woman is a force and I truly believe she’s going to shake up this field and challenge how we’re supposed to do things! She has the nerve to walk around with this ever expanding mental health toolkit for your mind body & soul, (Literally)and she’s no where near done increasing her knowledge. I did have a moment..the student surpassing the teacher, but then just took another moment to be thankful for being part of the process. I truly can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings.
