It’s been a little over a week since we came home with Noa, we are so thankful for all the love and support you e have received! Our sweet Noa Jean Giaimo joined us November 20, 2020 she was 6 pounds 5 ounces, 18 and a half inches long. We love you so much our little sweet butterfly girl!

Good scalp health...do you have it? Since I have been able to work again I have noticed a few things when I see my clients...scalp issues has been one of the biggest things I have come across. What’s happening? Well everyone who is working from home or just home in general have been neglecting scalp care without even knowing it. Basically taking a shower doing the minimum to style the hair and then ultimately throwing it up in a bun and letting it be till then next time they... decide they need to wash it. What’s happening is by not fully drying the hair moisture is festering at the root of the hair into the scalp causing irritation and skin build up. Then they throw it in a bun and not brush regularly causing the scalp starts to itch and now the client thinks either they have a dry scalp or they have dandruff...then they repeat the same routine over and over again. Soooo let me tell you what needs to change ASAP to stop this... You need to... - use a scalp brush for when you shampoo in the shower to get the dead skin off -a good gentle detox shampoo -a good conditioner NOT for your roots only for your mids and ends -blow dry your hair completely -use a boar bristle brush in the morning and evening brushing your scalp and any oils that could be building up throughout the hair -do a low pony tail avoiding a high bun until this issue is resolved. Please reach out to me if you need any specific advice on this or anything for your hair I love to help and most importantly I want to know what all clients are needing and wanting from the stylist they are working with and building a relationship with to have the best hair they could possibly have and the best salon experience I could offer.

Pampering yourself is always a must for self care Sometimes it’s getting your hair done, or buying a great bottle of wine to enjoy, or even just waking up super early to enjoy an amazing cup of coffee and having a peaceful quiet morning... Either way it’s something we have to do to pamper ourselves, what do you do to pamper yourself? ... Essentials... Do you protect your hair? Do you see products on Instagram and wonder if they are worth the purchase? Well I have been stalking these products by @daehair for a while, to be honest the creator of this line has been someone I have followed for years. So I gave in and I had to try her products which are now sold @sephora ... I want to start off by saying the packaging is perfection...I used about two drops of this oil on my wet hair before styling and holy crap was it amazing! First of all the smell wa...s delightful, the consistency was exactly what I look for in a hair oil, and then to see how soft and shiny my hair was after a good blow out and curls sold me! I usually stick to products I purchase from my professional retailers, but this product is a go to for me now! Can’t wait to try the shampoo/conditioner next!!

I was listening to a podcast today that really brought things full circle for me. One of the biggest things I took away was that so much of our focus is on social media and comparing ourselves to people we think are doing it better. The focus we allow ourselves to put on the people we think have it all figured out when really we have no clue if they do or don’t needs to stop. Being a leader doesn’t mean that you have 1 million followers on Instagram on any social media pl...atform. It also doesn’t mean that by having big brands back you or give you any amount of attention proves that you have more worth than someone who doesn’t have any of that. Our focus on leaders has been pointed in the wrong direction and I want to change what it looks like for my children. I am a hairdresser, a salon owner, a Mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter and a person. I am a leader and it’s time for change. Accomplishing a list of things doesn’t make me a leader, what makes me a leader is the risk I am willing to take on myself and my future. I want to encourage more people, I want to inspire and invoke passion for being in control of your own destiny. I want that destiny to not matter how much money you make, what prize possessions you have, how many people you know, or where you have been, I WANT it to be about where you WANT to be going in your life and in your future. We can all be leaders, leaders of our own lives. Its time for change and I can’t wait for what the future will look like on this path I am have started walking...

It’s the first time in my life I have accepted I have no control over what is happening. We are in the middle of a pandemic, I am pregnant, unable to work inside of my business. I had just started my career when the 2008 recession hit. The outcome of that recession was my ability to open my business and grow faster than I could have imagined. I have weathered a storm before and come out on top. This time it will look different but it won’t be different, I am determined to fig...ure this out. This year has been a year of growth for me, In November of 2019 I sought out a mentor and began working on myself and my business. I had just made some decisions on the direction of my business in early March and started implementing those decisions when the pandemic hit. Days after my business was ordered to shut down I found out I was pregnant. That was an adjustment on it’s own, but it forced me to slow down even more so than I typically would have during a time like this. This new world we all entered was unrecognizable, I have learned to accept a lot that would normally be unacceptable. I have been angry, devastated, broken, and lost just like everyone else. I have made a choice now to be grateful, I have been reminded that I cannot let situations control me that I have no control over. I have the ability and opportunity to make decisions for my life and my future. Making those decisions make me feel like I am in control again. The big question is, what do I want the future to look like? I know it will not be the same as it was before and for that I have gratitude. Something needed to change and this quickly put those changes in motion for me. So now I am starting from scratch...trying to not put pressure on myself to have all the answers and a clear direction at this moment. What I have decided is that wherever I end up it will be where I am supposed to be.
