Hog Fire Update: The Hog Fire started yesterday at 3:30 pm. It is burning 1/2 mile north of Goumaz Campground and south of Highway 44. The fire is burning on p...rivate and USFS land. The fire is approximately 650 acres and 5% contained. Steep terrain and continued spot fires remain the critical issue. There are still no threats to structures or road closures. The only evacuation has been to the Goumaz Campground which was evacuated for precautionary purposes. Crews are busy constructing fire line to get the fire contained. Please avoid the area so fire resources can get in and out of the fire. Use alternate routes besides Highway 44 if possible. Resources on hand include: 25 engines, 8 hand crews, 15 dozers, 15 water tenders, 4 helicopters and 6 air tankers. Agencies on the fire include CALFIRE, USFS, BLM, Susan River, Standish-Litchfield, Janesville, the Redding Hotshots and a Folsom Lake Handcrew. Cause of the fire is under investigation. #BarrettFire near Lyons Valley [update] The fire’s forward rate of spread was stopped overnight/early morning at 3-4 acres. Due to access issues, firefighters were shuttled to the fire by boat. Firefighters will remain at scene today mopping up and building containment line.

First look at the 2 new fires burning in NorCal Badger -350 acres 5% contained Hog - 500 acres 0% contained

#BadgerFire #YrekaCalifornia Fire is 350 plus acres with 5% containment. All Evacuation Warning and Orders from Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office remain in eff...ect. An Evacuation Order is in effect for residents on Hakinsville Humbug Rd and roads off Hawinsville Humbug. Also an Evacuation Order for residents that live on the west side of Hwy 263 north to and including Old Shasta River Rd. Residence living on Hwy 263 from Old Shasta River road to Hudson Rd are under an Evacuation Warning. Cause is still under investigation by CAL FIRE Siskiyou Unit

We will be at scene of the Candy Fire for the next hour or so mopping up. The fire burned 17 acres in Palermo. With the help of 2 dozers, a hand crew, and a h...elicopter, the forward progress of the fire was stopped within an hour and a half. This is in a lightly populated area of Butte County, but there were houses in the immediate area that we saved from damage. See the Fact Sheet for all the details. See more
