Intimacy Perspectives

I am offering a Couples Communications Online Drop-in class, for couples who could benefit from community support, sharing ups and downs, strengths and challenges, best practices and empathic connection with one another. Pleas share this with couples you know who may be especially stressed by current conditions. Mondays in April.

Honesty. Too little is dishonest. Too much is unkind. How do you find a place between? Direct and kind, tactful and helpful, clean, and clear. One of the great challenges and essential qualities of an intimate relationship is this set of skills, for many, a work in process.

How I see intimacy is that there’s a deep honesty that’s not always easy to find and express. This candid culture thing requires tactfulness, grace, empathy, timing and a willingness to deeply listen and reflect. I like the Buddhist questions as truthfulness guidance: is it true, is it kind, is it helpful and does it improve upon the silence. Easier said than done
