She is a graduate of the MFA Jewelry and Metal Arts department at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In this presentation, she will cover a short background/history of engraving, the tools and skills of the trade, and finally some recent work she completed and was included in the Jewelry and Metal Survey (JaMS) book published by the Society of North American Goldsmiths. Primary qualification is willingness to do a wide variety of tasks that need to be done. You can work in a social distant location with lots of fresh air. The studio is open to the outside with a large garage door.... Primary tasks are polishing and general studio maintenance, but with interest and ability your job description can expand. Are you comfortable working independently on a task? Are you willing to learn? Are you good at working with your hands on a variety of materials? Are you a problem solver? No day is ever the same. Learn how to do silver repair and the variety of skills to be successful in the metal arts world. This job can expand to your potential but it is essential to understand that even the smallest tasks are important and attention to detail is required. Hours and days are flexible within reason.
