Our long-time tenant, David Hoover, is on the Meridian Hayward ramp preparing his vintage 1940's Russian Yak for its first flight since World War II. According to Wikipedia, the Yakovlev Yak-3 was a single-engine, single-seat WWII Soviet fighter. Robust and easy to maintain, it was much liked by both pilots and ground crew. One of the smallest and lightest combat fighters fielded by any combatant during the war, its high power-to-weight ratio gave it excellent performance and it proved to be a formidable dogfighter. We love vintage aircraft! Good luck David!

Meridian is very pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Forester Pappas to its Board of Directors. Pappas, who for the past eight years has strategically focused on Aviation Sales and Business Development, specifically in the Bay area, has been involved with the business since she was a teenager, when she worked as a Customer Service Representative. Meridian, the longest-established FBO and maintenance operation at Teterboro Airport, evolved from the business founded by Pappas’ grandfather, John Kenneth Forester (known as Ken Senior), in 1946. The company is now led by his son, Ken Forester, current owner and CEO. To read the press release, please click here: http://ow.ly/9F5B50BmbYR

A very colorful PC-24 popped up on the Meridian Hayward ramp yesterday. The Pilatus PC-24 is a light business jet produced by Pilatus Aircraft of Switzerland. Following the PC-12 single turboprop success, work on the jet started in 2007 for greater range and speed, keeping the rugged airfield capability. Thank you for choosing Meridian Hayward!

Meridian Hayward is proud to have hosted this historical military aircraft shown on our ramp. This 1944 Douglas A-26C, known as Sexy Sue, is named for the colorful artwork on the port side nose - not shown in this photo for obvious reasons! The A-26 Invader (B-26 between 19481965) was a twin-engined light attack bomber built by the Douglas Aircraft Co. during World War II, that also saw service during several other conflicts in the post-war era of the latter 20th Century. #SexySue #WWIIaircraft #MeridianHayward

We at Meridian Hayward handle more than just cats and dogs. Every once in a while, even those with wings need a ride! Some of our feathery friends stopped by our FBO on their way to a bird sanctuary in North Carolina. #exoticbirds #animalfriendly #MeridianHayward #WeAreOpen

Meridian Hayward welcomes a special aircraft to its ramp! The interior and exterior of this Citation 560XLS was designed and painted by artist Nancy Friedemann-Sanchez. She describes her artwork as "anchored in feminism, and informed by North and South American cultural forms that fuse and cross-pollinate." She draws on historical iconography such as flowers, lace, and birds. We just think it looks amazing! #NancyFriedemann #AviationArt #WeLoveOurCustomers
