Cassie and Miguelo transformed Cassie’s parents’ mountain property into the sweetest ceremony venue and the barn, which is the only structure was the reception venue. They added all the perfect details, including home made log benches and had a harpist add to the whimsical forest ambiance @thewildbarneses. It was a chilly April morning ceremony with some snow flurries, but nothing stopped these two from sharing the sweetest vows. I already complimented Miguelo that he if ...I could give awards he’d be in the finals for best vows, he so poetic and we could all witness just how he wooed Cassie They just had giggles and smiles throughout the whole morning, and actually throughout the whole process of meeting them and preparing for their wedding. Can’t believe all we’ve overcome in the last year and all that has taken place in the last 365 days. So thankful for all of my couples and their love stories that have persevered through all of it. Kelly and Sumair had the sweetest elopement at @tahoeblackbear and @courtneyaaronphoto captured the essence perfectly. You can just feel how happy and loving they are. Their interfaith ceremony reflected Sumair’s Sikh roots and Kelly’s Christian roots. They honor each other in such a beautiful way of learning and celebrating each other’s heritage. These two are so driven and together make quite the team, Kelly has a PhD in education, and works on higher education progra...m planning, and Sumair just started with his own law firm. It was clear from the beginning of their relationship that they were meant for each other. They plan to have a traditional Sikh ceremony next year and for now, they couldn’t wait, so 2020 will forever be their wedding anniversary. It was a a gorgeous sunrise for such an amazing couple who’s love story makes me swoon. How is it that I keep having new favorite couples and elopements?!!! ... Ashley and Ross had a ~very~ long road getting here. An original plan consisting of a sunrise ceremony just them and then a twilight ceremony with their guests was shifted with COVID, and we are not even surprised anymore are we? To top it off 10/10/20 was THE date of the year (it was convenient for it to be on a Saturday) and after a few ideas and tossing around options, what we landed on was perfect. I’m endlessly grateful that they trusted the process and leaned into what magic it could be, and that in spite of it all we had the best day. Of course, Meredith (@ceremonies_by_meredith) was with us the whole way too and I’m also so grateful for a friend like her in this industry. She takes such good care of our clients Congrats to Ash and Ross for this day, the life they’ve built and all that is to come.

Among all of the unexpected twists and turns of this year, Sarah and Jon were also faced with the forest closures due to the wildfires. As a result, their mountaintop ceremony turned into a @thunderbirdlaketahoe ceremony. Long story short, their original wedding venue was Thunderbird and they postponed their reception for next year, and planned to elope. For me, full disclosure this was selfishly an invited change of plans, minus the fires of course. As I grew up... not far from the Thunderbird and I even beach around the cove often, however I’ve never stepped foot on the grounds. Well, it’s even more elaborate than I imagined! As for Sara and Jon, they still had a woodsy ceremony on the grounds, which was important for them as they find their peace on hikes and in nature. And they will party next year with all of their guests who will also enjoy the sites of @thunderbirdlaketahoe Their ceremony was so intimate and I’m so impressed with each of their kids who also shared vows. Jon’s son sent a letter to be read by his sister as he couldn’t leave Austria due to Covid, his spirit was there and he succeeded with bringing on the tears Their families meld in such a perfect way, I’m so happy for them and the fun future that lies ahead Melissa with @beauandarroweventco held the reigns and was an incredible support through all of the planning and replanning, the day of wedding you would have never known that this was Plan C, D. I pause my feed of beautiful pictures today bring attention to who I am and what I have always stood for and always will stand for I’m not afraid if folks choose to unfollow me and if couples choose to not hire me if their opinions differ, though I am willing to work with all couples because everyone deserves to celebrate their marriage and have the best ceremony ever. It was so wonderful to work alongside a dream team of vendors for Julia and Anthony’s wedding, including @vildphotography to capture all the details. Though, their plans changed a few times over the year and their guest list was scaled back, including many of Julia’s family were not able to travel from Brazil for the wedding, their day was blessed with blue skies and celebratory vibes The ceremony was streamed and had all the feels, laughter, tears and excitement! Antho...ny’s family cabin at Fallen Leaf Lake was a gorgeous setting for their venue, I was so impressed with how @wilder.events.co transformed the sloped property to accommodate the altar, cocktail hour, dinner and dance floor with the sweetheart table. Their family has a long history with this cabin and I just adored the retro snow cat from the ‘40s they have displayed in the garage, check out my stories to see! It still runs! It used to be how they could get down Fallen Leaf Road in the winter. Nicole and Andre had a true elopement, they only invited their best friends and came to Tahoe from Detroit to have Nicole’s cousin @lunamunn shoot all the magic Since they have now shared their news I am so excited to finally post the sweetness Their ceremony took them into what I call the marriage portal they were elevated to another level, another planet.... and came out onto the other side as husband and wife I’ve said this before, it is such an HONOR for a friend ...and colleague to invite me to officiate a personal experience. Thank you @lunamunn for trusting me to create a ceremony that reflected Nicole and Andre the way they deserve. Nicole and Andre are only stronger together and the rest of us are only better off because their love exists. They both shared that they had never met someone who was so passionate and committed to improving and strengthening social justice and their Detroit community Now that is so attractive! They inspire each other and everyone around them @lunamunn we all need to reunite in Detroit, I want to know all things Nicole and Andre and visit the 200 year old house they are renovating They said in their ceremony interview that if they can survive renovating their home while living with their parents without killing each other then they can survive marriage no doubt!
