Melanie's "Advanced Tip of the Week!" As another week "takes off" in October and brings us closer to Halloween (Everyone's favorite time to "trick or treat) remember this, "Advanced Tip of the Week" all year long! This one will help maintain that beautiful skin you have, or attain the beautiful skin you want. Don't forget to "Take off" your makeup every night (no, seriously. Take off your makeup every. night). Sleeping in your makeup is the ultimate beauty no-no! Today’s cos...metics are created to last throughout the day, and silicone and other chemicals in makeup stay in pores if you don’t use a product specifically designed for the job, like BioElements’ oil-free makeup dissolver, you're tricking your skin and waking up with with a treat you may not want. So when you hit that comfy spot, don't get too comfy, bounce up and "take it off"....your make up of course. See more

Melanie's "Advanced Tip of the Week" Happy Tuesday everyone! Good skin care is in your hands.... literally! You can start with small things to improve your skin texture and overall appearance. Things like using a pumice peel or even a washcloth (using counterclockwise motion) you can improve big pesky pores. In doing this you're able to get underneath the hair follicle which is where dirt gets trapped and causes clogged pores and bacteria to form. If you're wanting your acne and large pores to be a thing of the past, try this simple tip. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Melanie's "Advanced Tip of the Week" 9/21 - Moisturize * Moisturize * Moisturize By now, you should know that moisturizing is keyand lack of it is often the reason for wrinkles, dullness, and, yes, even oiliness. Thus, we estheticians are especially devout about moisturizing, in whatever way works best for our skin type. I spray my face with hydrating mist a few times during the day to hydrate, soothe, and refresh the skin, Wong says. But the moisturizing shouldn’t stop at your faceget your body involved too. I always keep coconut or avocado oil in my shower and apply it while my skin is still wet to seal in the moisture, and then apply a moisturizer, Benjamin says. We tend to forget that our skin on our body can also show signs of aging, and keeping it properly moisturized will slow down the signs of aging.

9/14 - Don't PICK!! "Melanie's Advanced Tip of the Week!" We know it's Week 1 of the 2015/2016 NFL Season with our 49ers playing tonight's Monday Night Football Game! We also know everyone's doing their fair share of picking their team favorite, picking the spread, picking the over/under, picking the 3 team parlays, picking their food & beverage, picking picking picking!!... We here to say loud and clear.....DON'T PICK! When a pimple pops up or stress strikes, you might be tempted to pick at your facedon’t. I follow this tip religiously because the truth of the matter is a blemish usually lasts five to seven days, but the red or dark scar from picking at the blemish can linger for weeksor even months, my colleague and Dallas-based esthetician Renée Rouleau says. As tempting as it can be, it’s not worth it to pick. Instead, I apply a spot treatment to help speed up the recovery time of a blemish. Benjamin agrees, saying, Cleanse, apply the correct active ingredients, and leave it alone and let it heal! (If you do find yourself in the wake of a picking frenzy, here’s how to remedy the urge to pick....Go back to the NFL frenzy of picking teams!) Go Niners and we hope to see you soon, Love Mel
