Happy Sunday! It is encouraging to me to see how people are being creative and sharing their talent and love during these time. Hubert is a talented singer and song writer that I have known for many years and it was a joy for me to open facebook this morning and listen to him sing. He gave me the gift to move to his music and smile. I actually got up and started to dance. Thank you Hubert! Look for the joy in every day to help with the stress of these challenging times.
We are facing challenging times right now. Living in fear and panic will only create stress and lower our immune system. Knowing the facts about how to care for our loved ones and ourselves is the first step of prevention. Staying away from crowds and washing hands with soap and hot water is the first and easiest step. Which I'm sure you have heard by now. I feel the second step is building our immune systems and that is being conscious of what we are eating. Here are a few ...suggestions that will help you do this. Drink plenty of filtered water. Eat citrus fruits, apples, spinach, red bell peppers, eggs, nuts, garlic, fermented foods (yogurt, sauerkraut and kombucha) and shell fish such as oysters Add spices to your food like turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Please share any other suggestion that your might have to help build the immune system. I am also taking a moment in each day being grateful for the love and beauty that surrounds me. Focusing on the positive is much more productive and less stressful. Here's to your health!
OK, so how many energy drinks to you or people you know drink per day?
When I started getting concerned about the food I was eating, I thought I would not be able to eat healthy because of the cost of organic food. I discovered that in doing the math, it is not that much more expensive and my health is worth it. I started with reading labels and if the ingredients had things that I had no idea what they were, I put it back on the shelf. This included things I loved to eat and had been eating for a long time. It wasn't easy. Now a days there are a lot more choices and you don't have to go totally organic to start eating more healthy food. If the package says no added synthetic preservatives, dyes, artificial sweeteners and flavors then that is a great start. Just alleviating these can give you more energy, help you sleep better and even possibly lose a few pounds.
