MEGAComfort is making a difference in the lives of Healthcare workers across Ontario. As a company, our entire mission, the whole reason we show up every day is to make a difference in people’s lives. The COVID19 pandemic has changed all of our lives, especially those working on the front lines to protect us. One of the nurses at Sunnybrook Health Science Center reached out to let us know that she and her colleagues are frontline workers who are working tirelessly everyday i...n the emergency department and seeing very sick patients from traumas to strokes etc. She said, We are also going through a tough time as our morale has been lowered as we are the forgotten modality in the pandemic pay initiative by the government. We have been seeing many COVID patients since January and are facing a critical shortage in PPE as well. It was our honor and privilege to uplift team moral and put some smiles behind those masks, by gifting their team some MEGAComfort insoles. It’s our responsibility within the global wellness community to uplift and support each other. We’re happy to be apart of their story, and honored for them to be apart of ours. How's your Friday going? Would it be better if we shared a tip about improving your posture while working at home? Great! Well, you know how much we love helping out all workplace warriors (and yes, your home office is still an office)! Are you reading this while slouching in your chair? Take a deep breathe and sit up. Take a moment and evaluate where your holding tension and try and breathe into that space.... It's important to start with a solid foundation - yes, we’re talking about your feet. Make sure you’re wearing shoes, even if you’re working at home. It may sound silly, but proper foot support helps you with balance. Make sure you’re also achieving optimal support by using your favorite pair of MEGAComfort insoles. Make sure your home office is set up like your work office. Your elbows and wrists should be able to rest gently on your desk. Your chair should have a back to it (no stools) and if you want a gold star for work stations, try to utilize a standing desk so you can move your body and avoid zoom fatigue. Make sure you take some breaks: Set a timer on your phone so that you can remind your self that you need to evaluate your posture. Go back to that deep breathe and tension evaluation we did before. If possible, get outside and take a quick walk. Even 5 minutes can make a major difference to your physical and mental well-being. " Do any of these tips surprise you?
