One more month left for TAX PLANNING SEASON!
Are you listening to our podcast?
Picking the right CPA for you is one of the best investments that you can make for yourself and your business. Therefore, it should be treated as such. Here are the THREE things that you should look for when picking your CPA to get the most value out of your investment. The first thing to look for is, are they going to add value or just fill out the forms? So many CPA's out there just take the numbers, plug them in, and fill out the forms. And there is nothing wrong with that.... However, that is not the best use of your CPA. You want a CPA that is going to look at the numbers and see how they can save you money on taxes. Or even to see that maybe you're spending too much in certain areas of expenses, and as a result helping you grow your business. Second, are they proactive or reactive? Do they wait for you to call them with problems or do they reach out periodically to check up on you? This is something that you can ask for when shopping around for a CPA. Lastly, do they work for you or do they work for the IRS? We have had so many clients tell us that they felt their last CPA worked for the IRS because they would constantly tell them why they couldn't do something instead of figuring out how they could make certain things work. This is very important because a CPA should be problem solving to find ways to minimize your tax bill, improve your business, and help you.
