We had the best time today at North County Volunteer Appreciation! Volunteers keep our wheels turning. We truly couldn’t do it without each and every one of you. THANK YOU!

Our next volunteer(s) spotlight is Carolyn and her beautiful family! Once a week, the Hofstetter Family delivers smiles to their favorite seniors. Carolyn says, "Volunteering with MOW is one of the highlights of our week, we have met so many lovely people on our routes!" Thank you so much for your dedication. Generosity runs in the family!

Our first volunteer spotlight is @ilimanator! Ilima-Lei Macfarlane has been with Meals on Wheels for three years! When asked what her favorite part of volunteering is, Illima-Lei says, "My favorite part of volunteering is knowing my kupuna (senior citizens in Hawaiian) and what they need from me. Some need help opening up the milk cartons, some I have to knock really loud until they wake up to answer the door, others are Spanish speakers so I greet them with Hola! Others like to talk about the weather, some like to talk about sports, others don’t want to be bothered from their television program. Knowing my kupuna and their preferences always makes me feel good, as if they are my own family members." Wow! Thank you so much for all you do. We couldn't do it without you!

No better way to kick off National Volunteer Week than with National Volunteer Recognition Day! We wish we could perosnally shoutout all 2,500 active volunteers this week because they all deserve it but for now, we will be featuring just a handleful of our all-star volunteers! Delivering nearly 50,000 meals delivered each month, our volunteers have truly stepped up to the plate to meet the increased need over the past year. Our clients continuously say their favorite part of their day is seeing the volunteers, sharing a smile, and feeling connected to our community. Thank you for making a difference every single day.
