To our followers in the area of the Creek Fire! Be safe this fire is moving very fast! Clovis Rodeo Grounds Open to Animals Displaced by Creek Fire The Clovis Rodeo Grounds is also open for large animals that have been displaced by the Creek Fire. ... If large animal owners in the impacted region need to drop off horses etc., they are advised that due to construction at the rodeo grounds they need to enter the gate that is open in the fence immediately adjacent to the Clark Intermediate School parking lot, that runs along the north side of the rodeo grounds. The gates at the front of the rodeo grounds are not accessible to truck and trailer traffic at this time. The rodeo grounds are located at 748 Rodeo Drive in the heart of downtown Clovis. The nearest intersection is Clovis Avenue and Fifth Street. Access to the Clark Intermediate School parking lot to gain access to the rodeo grounds is off of Fifth Street by the water tower parking lot. There is also construction taking place by the rodeo arena. All visitors are advised to be cautious and stay away from the construction area for their safety and that of the animals.

The Monterey County Sheriffs Posse at 395 Old Natividad Road remains open and has room for horses being evacuated from the fires. Enter through the arena or second gate. MCSP

8/4/20 I was notified this morning from the California Rodeo Association that the 2020 rodeo has been cancelled this probably comes as no surprise,with that being said the 2020 Big Hat BBQ will also be cancelled. Carl Pacheco, President MCSP

The Big Hat facebook page has been deleted. Many Posse events scheduled for this summer have been completely cancelled. The 2020 Big Hat BBQ will not be held July 11th. If it is rescheduled it will be announced here. As soon as restrictions are removed the Posse will be open for rental reservations on any of the dates that are available.

The Monterey County Sheriffs Posse regrets to inform our Car Show enthusiasts, that the 8th Annual Car Show scheduled in June has been cancelled. We hope to see everyone for the 9th annual show in June of next year 2021.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Virus, The Monterey County Sheriff’s Posse is Postponing the 74th annual Junior Rodeo scheduled for June 6th 2020. The Junior Rodeo Committee is looking into dates to hold our event in the fall. We will be posting that information when it is available. We thank all of our contestants, families, volunteers and sponsors for their continued support of the MCSP Junior Rodeo and for your understanding during this crisis.
