Ladders are used daily by our electricians, and it is important we inspect them periodically to make sure they are in good condition, and confirm decals are intact. Our Safety Officer made sure any exposed rebar was capped at our Kresge College project at the University of Santa Cruz. Impalement hazards are one of the most common injuries on the jobsite. A worker can fall onto an exposed bar and be scratched or pierced resulting in a serous internal injury. Next time you see an exposed rebar, please cap it. You can help prevent an injury.
