It's that time of year again!!! Yes, I am talking about the Holiday Season. But I am also talking about Tax Season being right around the corner. Here are some tips from the IRS in preparation for the upcoming tax season. Key Notes: 1.) Make sure to look out for all of your documents starting January. This includes W2's, 1099's, 1098's, etc, and of course the often-forgotten form 1095 that keeps you from paying the Obamacare Penalties. Review for accuracy and inform the issue...r immediately if there are any corrections needed. 2.) Remember that the laws changed several year ago and certain ITIN's need to be renewed. Make sure that if you need to renew, you do so in a timely manner or it may delay your refund. If you need to apply for an ITIN, contact us and we may be able to help. 3.) Please note that refunds from certain tax returns that include the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit will not be processed until mid-February. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, contact us for assistance. Remember that the key to faster refunds, compliance, and a smooth tax year is preparation.
