"What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." - Henry David Thoreau
Moving Tip: Create a Little Calm Moving is stressful. If you aren’t able to unpack and get everything organized in a single day, select one room to set up completely. This will create an island of calm while you get the rest of your house in order. When you’ve done all the unpacking you can tolerate, retreat to your oasis. It can be the main bedroom, an office, or the kitchen. But a space to rejuvenate and recharge will make it easier to tackle the next moving challenge.... If you have children, make it a priority to set up their rooms, so they too will have a retreat. After all, you’ll want to provide a place where they’re not underfoot while you (or the movers) are working. See more
Sellers: Put Your Best Foot Forward on May 23. May offers some of the best days of the year to sell a home at a premium, assuming history repeats itself. Home sales over the past 10 years have shown that spring and summer months tend to offer the highest premiums when selling. As home sellers continue to enjoy an extended sellers’ market, moving full steam ahead from the momentum gained over the last 10 years, the month of May is particularly poised to garner the greatest sale premiums. Among the top five days fetching the biggest home seller premiums, May 23 is the best day of the year to sell a home, producing a premium of 19.3 percent above market value.

Home Builders are in an Enviable Position. Millions of millennials are entering their prime home-buying years as mortgage rates remain near all-time lows. That’s a recipe for strong demand. Yet a decade of under-building and hesitance on the part of would-be home sellers means there are very few existing homes listed for sale. As a result, buyers are being pushed into the market for newly constructed homes. The biggest problem builders are facing right now is sourcing ...the materials needed to build homes. The shortage of semiconductors has caused delays in the deliveries of a new appliances. Even steel is harder to come by and more costly than it was last year. These factors are driving up the costs to build homes and extending out the timelines for these projects at a time when the country sorely needs extra housing inventory. See more
You've got to get up every morning with determination if you're going to go to bed with satisfaction. -George Lorimer
Is right now a good time to buy? Markets go up, markets go down and even the most informed experts can’t accurately predict when a market will peak or bottom out. If you’re buying a home as a long-term investment (and for long-term enjoyment), you should be protected from short-term changes in the market. Instead, focus on picking a home that meets your and your family’s needs.
