Congratulations to Mt. Carmel Music Foundation - MCMF "Mt. Carmel Marching Band and Color Guard. Under the direction of Garry McPherson, his band took home the Harlan Skinner Musical Performance Sweepstakes Trophy, the Edith Hughes Auxiliary (Flags and Banner / I.D. Unit) Sweepstakes Trophy, the John Dyster Showmanship Sweepstakes Trophy, the Tom Leonard Drum Major Sweepstakes Award and the Mayor's Perpetual Sweepstakes for the Best Band overall with a score of 96.20 on the street. Way to go Mt. Carmel. And....they also receive a $750 financial award! Thank you for participating and we will see you again next year!

I believe this is Castle Park High, doing their thing, marching in the 2019 Maytime Band Competition. This is one of the 7 bands that competed for over $2000 in cash prizes. It takes a lot of work, and many years to build up a parade and band competition like this one. ... The Maytime Band Review Board is proud to be bringing this band competition back to National City
Proud to have SUHI cheer kick off the this years parade, with the SUHI marching band stepping up to kick off the band competition segment of the parade. While we will always include different community groups, sponsors, and student performance teams, this will always be, first and foremost, a high school band competition... Go SUHI!!!... See you all next year...

Here are the placings: Class AA - 1st Place & $500 financial award - Olympian High School . Class A - 1st Place & $500 financial award - Granite Hills High School, 2nd Place & $300 financial award - Castle Park High School, 3rd Place & $200 financial award - Christian High School.
