Toro nagashi is a Japanese tradition where floating, candle-lit lanterns are set into rivers to guide the spirits of ancestors during the Obon season. This year..., Sokoji, Soto Mission of San Francisco will conduct its second annual Toro Nagashi ceremony virtually. Although you won’t be able to create and launch your own toro this year, you can purchase lanterns from the Mission and Rev. Kurotaki will inscribe your passed family members names and launch them into the pond on your behalf. Mail-in requests must be received by July 18! More details on their website here: http://www.sokoji.org/
