Exciting news! I sketched this lettering for my dad back in 2002 to use on his boat but it sadly didn’t make the cut. The first Mayhem was a Kirby 25 that my sister and I shared and raced in 2000. Since then my dad used the name and this sketch has been archived away in one of @mayzeart old sketchbooks. I’d always thought it would be cool to eventually get it on my own boat and this week that dream came true. A huge thanks to @mr_ajg for converting the sketch into a digital file for me so that I could get the letters printed #mayonthebay #mayhem #mayzeart

Early this morning we were awakened by an increasing wind blowing through the hatch. Within seconds gale force winds and lighting hit. Storms like this are rare around these parts but it was extremely cool to witness it blow through and watch the light show from the boat. Wish I had a camera onboard to capture the scene a little better but this shot will have to do...

Yestrerdays zoom cooking class with David Chang aboard the boat anchored up by the golden gate bridge was an experience I'll never forget. Despite being safely anchored for an hour and a half before the call things quickly changed when the wind picked up to +25kts. The anchror started to drag and before hitting shore I was able to quickly get to a vacnant slip at the nearby marina. Of course this all happened while on the call... Doh! Luckily I had some cameras rolling so was able to catch what I missed. The meal was incredible! Quote of the day "Oh my Lord" - David Chang

It was exciting to see these two smiling faces receive their #mayonthebay Pandemic Package yesterday. @btsaff7 was in first grade when I was his reading teacher and had his 13th birthday last week. He was my only student who sailed and surfed so we had a lot in common. It’s been exciting to follow his sailing achievements over the years. Can’t wait to see a #MOTB sticker on the back of your boat once you’re back on the water

4 years ago today my dad and I were half way across the country driving Kohana from Toronto to San Francisco. Who would have guessed that a year and a half later I’d be using Kohana in a business setting. Excited to get back on the water once these challenging times are behind us. Hope you’re all well!
