Initially presented as a 30 year old shopping center, this project consisted of re-finishing the existing storefront facial. The main focus of this design was to modernize the store’s façade, while minimizing construction costs. Such projects like these not only help increase value, but also revitalizes nearby neighborhoods.
Our client needed assistance to increase the lease value of the first and second floor spaces at Western Village. Although the original intent was to renovate, a solution presented itself with a transitional space. To contribute to the physical and visual continuity between the two levels, and better "connect" the facade to the street, an elegant outdoor escalator and elevator were constructed. Both facilitate easy access between the lower and upper levels, contribute to the aesthetics of elevation, and compliment the wide front area. Generally, the lease value of the retail space on the second floor is lower than that of the first. With this build, both floors increased in value without compromising space and design.
Kyoto Sushi is a Japanese fusion restaurant project that consisted of converting an existing retail store space to a new restaurant. The design focal point was to preserve a traditional Japanese garden style environment, providing a cozy eating space to the public in an oriental environment.
M.A.S. developed a new franchise yogurt shop to create an organic menu and form a naturally modern interior space environment.
Inspired by modern designs and minimalism, the main focus of this project was to create something that defines the space as simple and functional. The wooden materials compliment the brick column, accentuating harmony within the space.

Bringing along its huge success from Korea, Caffe Bene launched their first U.S. store on February 2012 in New York City’s Times Square. The trend spread over to the west coast, spawning the cafe all over California. Coziness, high ceiling, cement floor, and wooden furnishings were the main focal points of each project.
Following the success of Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong, Ahgassi Gopchang was seen to be the next go-to Korean BBQ place in the ever-bustling Koreatown. The concept was heavily influenced by its predecessor, relying on a modernized Korean pocha design (Pocha is known as a street food vendor in Korea). This project consisted of creating a unique environment in the midst of an oversaturated market of Korean BBQ restaurants. Apart from the exceptional food, many attribute Ahgassi Gopchang’s success from its oddly comfortable atmosphere.
