I’ve been licensed in CA for 26 years - and the expansion of teleheath services is allowing me to expand beyond my home state. . Telehealth services are dependent on the location of the client at the time of the video call - not the therapist. Virtual classes? In-person classes? Hybrid of both? Live on campus? Live at home? . So many variables, unknowns, and what ifs this coming fall. Most incoming college freshmen I’ve spoken to still have a few deposits down - waiting until the last minute to make that final decision. . My guidance is to still enroll where you want to be for the next four years - then make a separate decision about living on campus or staying home for the Fall and doing classes on-line. ... . And so it begins. High-achieving tweens - those headed off to middle school next fall, are entering the first phase of greatly increased academic and social pressures. . It may be his first time with multiple teachers - who don’t necessarily coordinate homework, exam, and project dates. . It may be her first time needing to really organize and manage her study time.... . It may be his first time where there’s students in a class that are getting higher scores on tests (honors class frenemy). . It may be her first time hearing peers talk about sex. . It may be his first time he’s offered vape, weed, alcohol. . It may be her first time being socially shunned on social media. . It may be his first time having to choose between peers who encourage good grades vs those who discourage good grades. . Preparation for Middle School - socially and academically is so very critical. Their experiences here set them on their future high school path. .
