We have been notified by residents that they have been received calls from a number that shows up on their caller ID as the City of Martinez Water Department and when answering the phone, they are greeted by scammers claiming to be from the IRS. This is a SCAM where our city number is being spoofed and we would advise you to hang up the phone and discontinue any discussion with the caller. We appreciate your understanding and wanted to keep you informed as scams such as this are becoming more common.
