My husband and I went into Sacramento to drop off paintings for the Kennedy Exhibit. Our car then started to smoke. Turned out it was the radiator leaking. Daily sketches... I continued my daily sketches in a Moleskine watercolor sketchbook in pocket size (5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches). I decided to add borders. They seemed to give a more define almost storytelling quality to the sketches. Sketches includes my favorite hot sandwich from Cafe Forest and my recipe for a strawberry banana smoothie. I had purchased this cute little wooden watercolor palette from Etsy store, Go Draw, a few weeks ago. It's made out of wood with 15 porcelain wells and mixing area. It is small enough to attached to a pocket size sketchbook with bull clips. A commissioned watercolor portrait. Such a delight to paint. The challenge was making sure that the toy colors did not compete with the black and white portrait of Mosley. To solve that I worked on lightened the eyes and lightened up the colors in the toy. It worked!
