Greetings, After much discussion with the Board of Directors of the Angels Camp Business Assn, the decision was made to cancel the 2020 Mark Twain WildWest Fest scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2020 in downtown Angels Camp. ACBA has been the sponsor of this event for many years and the lead agency in securing the necessary insurance, state highway road closure and recruiting 50 to 60 volunteers to help run the event. There were too many unknown factors about COVID-19 an...d how it will affect the future of public events over the next 4 to 6 months. In addition, an event like the MTWWF takes months to plan, much work to find sponsorships to pay for the event, secure contracts with entertainers and infrastructure, and seek vendors who are already in a quandary as how they modify their businesses practices to meet COVID-19 guidelines. We also recognize the family budget is limited as we see families recovering from this situation and concerns for moving forward. Many of our small businesses are in the same situation. So our core committee will continue to work behind the scenes this next year to bring back some of our favorites and will work plan on a few surprises! You can help us going forward by ‘liking’ and ‘sharing’ our page. We also encourage you to support and shop our small businesses who have supported our community event over the years.
