Monrovia Troop 66 had a rare opportunity to visit San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) to round out their Nuclear Science Merit Badge. Pictures were not allowed to be taken by guests but could only be taken by SCE staff in designated areas. This tour completed our Nuclear Science merit badge. Our scouts did an amazing job for the 8-hour classroom session and then the tour to have a full understanding of Nuclear Energy. A special Thank You to Professor Marie Blatnik of Caltech who went with is today and held the classroom portion for us. To David Mari, Sam Kurutz, Peter Vierheilig and Rhonda Aponno for being with us today. Without your leadership, this would not be possible.

Our Pack and Troop family is beyond amazing. Thank you to the Celek family for the new pool filtration system for Camp Trask and to the Mari family for the new patio cover that came from the movie set of the Transformers. Not only will our Scouts benefit from this but the entire Council for decades to come will enjoy the clean pool to learn to swim and shade to eat and learn under. Scouting develops generosity, service and fraternity, which are all values "our world sorely needs," "These values are the antidote to the selfishness and individualism of our society," "Scouting also encourages you to work together as a team, to share adventures, and to have a greater vision of life and creation."

So very proud of Monrovia Troop 66 Leviathan Patrol who went for leadership training in order to train up our younger scouts. Their devotion to Scouting shows in all they do. A huge shout out to Austin A., Troop 66 SPL for being an instructor on this course. Nate J. Was a patrol leader for Dem Sea Urchins, to Willem A. For being Grubmaster and Adrian A. From.the Dolphin patrol. So proud of you all. Cedar Badge: Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops teaches Scouts with... leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. This district-level event is intended to assist those units with limited training resources, or those interested in giving their leaders additional exposure to unit operations, how to plan campouts, campfires, interfaith services, how to lead songs, and make the boy-run program operate more smoothly. Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops is a requirement for National Youth Leader Training. This is the original Cedar Badge, which was designed by the Mt. Rubidoux District Training Team. The original Cedar Badge is an overnight training course. Cedar Badge is based on the Boy Scouts of America’s Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops and the Patrol Leader Handbook. See more

7 more days till our Monrovia City Anti-Bully Forum. https://www.facebook.com/events/2120419848194738/?ti=cl Monrovia Pack 66 will be hosting a Community wide forum on April 9th, 2018 7pm to 9pm Monrovia Vineyard Church 1307 S. Myrtle Ave, Monrovia, CA. 91016 to address Bullying within our schools and community for all ages. We will have 2 experts in the field of Bullying, Danielle Matthews, Marriage & Family Therapist, MFT and author of The Empowered Child and legal exper...t Roberty Glassman from Panish Shea & Boyle LLP, a Law Firm that Handles Bullying, Shaming, Sexting, Cyber-Harassment and Cyber-Stalking Cases and will offer assistance to our families. We will invite the local media to attend and KGEM to record the event so that those who are unable to attend will have an opportunity to review afterward. This meeting will allow those without a voice to have one and to be heard. We want to ensure that we work with MUSD but at the same time ENSURE ALL voices are heard with accountability in mind. Please forgive me in my bluntness, but my duty is to my Scouts and the children of Monrovia, those children without a voice, those too scared to come forward, those who the system have failed. MUSD and the Monrovia Community need to come together as one for all our children. Political Correctness aside, feelings aside, community action is the only answer. Our children need to be heard, their pain and suffering need to be let out and not swept under the rug. See more
