Grateful to have been able to help our friends and partners at WEAVE, Inc. add nine manufactured homesthe first permanent supportive housing for victims of domestic violence in our region. The nine two-bedroom homes at WEAVE’s new Creekside Village will allow them to move victims and their families out of temporary emergency and transitional housing and into a stable, supportive long-term home. Without stable and affordable housing, victims are forced to choose between viole...nce and homelessness. They literally put their lives at risk to keep their children housed. WEAVE has been able to fund the bulk of this multi-million dollar project with a state grant through the Governor’s HomeKey program and CARES act funding from the City of Sacramento. However, there is a funding gap of $350,000 that they are working to close via value engineering, cash contributions from donors, and the reduction of hard costs through the donation of product and services. This morning MarketOne Builders hosted a tour of our Admail West project in Sacramento for Sierra College students who are participating in their Construction Fundamentals Bootcamp. In partnership with North State Building Industry Foundation, this tuition-free program provides essential industry knowledge, training and awareness for students who are interested in starting their career in the building trades and construction industry. The students that attended today were very knowledgeable and had some great questions for Kenny Dees, who led the tour. They should be proud to participate in such a wonderful program. What's happening out in the field this Friday? Demo! Our team has been working on interior demo at The Nature Conservancy project this week.
