weeks ago, a teenager chose me to shoot her senior photos, saying I was her first choice after viewing the website of several photogs in the denver area. it was such a simple compliment that deeply touched me in a long past year when creatives have been surrounded by feelings of: self-doubt, worthlessness, degradation, and an immense fight for survival. it was really fun to work with the teen youth population again and i welcomed the challenge, hearing her story of finishing... her last year of high school completely on the internet. not even being able to have her friends sign the yearbook this photo would end up in. reiterating fears that her first year of college would be a similar experience of coldness and social distance. no matter who you are, it’s been tough. maybe even the hardest year some of you have ever experienced. i find some solace in the fact that my suffering isn’t isolated and that the more i hear people’s stories, the greater the chance for humility is presented. take care of each other bb’s See more
