Today, DSA president Weston Carroll presented Sheriff Binnewies with a plaque from the members of the DSA. The plaque is in recognition of his 30 years of service to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office. Congratulations Sheriff Binnewies on your retirement.

The 2020 KOPS for KIDS giveaway is officially over and let us tell you... it was one for the books! Today we had the honor of blessing over 300 local kids with Christmas gifts and warm winter clothing. And YES, you heard that right! 300 KIDS!!! A special thank you to everyone who made a donation to our KOPS for KIDS program. Every toy, every warm winter jacket, every monetary donation... It all added up and enabled us to be there for our Mariposa community during ...their time of need. Thank you to all of the volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a successful one! We have an awesome team and your support and dedication to our community is commendable. Happy Holidays from our DSA Family to yours!

The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office employees will be participating in No Shave November in an effort to raise money for a fellow law enforc...ement officer who is battling cancer. Get ready for some fierce competition! Stay tuned for some magestic mustaches and beautiful beards!

Burglar Alarms on gas pumps alerted Deputies to the Stage Stop Gas Station just after 10:30pm on Thursday October 22nd. Deputies located Ahmed Roca Socarras of ...Escalon standing in front of one of the pumps. Mr. Roca Socarras had multiple items used to open the fuel pumps as well as a credit card skimming device. The pumps were opened and checked for any skimmers inside, none were located. Stage Stop has been targeted multiple times in the past by credit card skimmers. The combination of an alarm system and a quick response by deputies prevented them from being hit again. Ahmed Roca Socarras was arrested and booked and released from the Mariposa County Adult Detention Facility.

Did you see something? We are looking for information connected to an assault that reportedly occurred in the late hours of Friday October 2nd or the early hou...rs of Saturday October 3rd. We also ask that anyone with any information about additional assault incidents that may have occurred in the town area of Mariposa to contact our office to make a report.

FROUND 9/25/2020 Search and Rescue teams located the body of Mr. Schluchter earlier today. Additional details will be released once the coroner investigation is... complete. A big thank you to all those who assisted in the search for Lewis. MISSING PERSON- LEWIS SCHLUCHTER Circumstances behind Disappearance: Lewis was last seen at his home in Buck Meadows on 09-12-2020 at approximately 1:30 PM. He is commonly known to hike alone near the Yosemite Ridge Resort in Buck Meadows. Unknown clothing. Possibly wearing a long sleeve shirt (unknown color), tan pants, and glasses.
