This year our theme is For His Name’s Sake and our scripture is Psalm 23. We can’t wait for this scripture to be hidden in their hearts! We’re OVERJOYED to announce that MCS has once again been designated as a National Blue Ribbon School! Congratulations! Mariners Christian School has been designated an Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon School for 2020 by U. S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. Your school is one of 367 schools in the nation and one of 36 schools from California to be recognized in 2020. Please join our entire community as we celebrate this major accomplishment!

Class of 2020 Graduate, Kiana Giunta, was recently featured by the Hoag Hospital Foundation for her Difference Maker project in which she raised money to provide bibles for Hoag Hospital patients. We are deeply grateful and inspired by Kiana’s initiative and strength of spirit in pursuing her goal to serve her community, says Rev. Jeffery J. Scheer, BCC, ACPE Certified Educator, interim director of Hoag Pastoral Care. We will distribute the Bibles her gift has provided with much love and appreciation. Our FINAL MCS Weekly Challenge is to Remember & Celebrate! It goes without saying that this year presented some unique challenges, but God has been so good in the midst of it all. That’s why we’re challenging you to post a photo of one of your favorite memories from this school year! We’ve reached the stage of quarantine where everyone’s feeling a little QUIRKY Today’s all school dress day was Quirky Quarantine Day and our students crazy outfits did not disappoint! WOW! MCS 8th Grader, Kate Dietrick, helped design masks for the hearing impaired community. Along with her sister Maggie, and friends Isabelle and Hannah Dastgheib, Kate helped launch the non-profit @readmylipsmasks. The masks are made with a clear plastic window that makes communicating much easier for those with hearing impairment. We are so proud of Kate and the difference she is making! The girls’ story was recently featured in the LA Times. #cultureofinnovation #differencemakers #connectedcommunity #marinerschristianschool
