Stewie is a fan favorite here at MVV, and it is easy to see why. We love the meditative moments we get with this beautiful being during his acupuncture sessions :)

Nobody wants to think, let alone talk, about cancer. But, our pets can’t always speak for themselves or tell you when something is wrong! So, we need to make sure we are as educated as possible on the subject on their behalf. In light of May being National Pet Cancer Awareness month, we want to take this opportunity to spread some knowledge about pets and cancer: -Cancer can be caused by a variety of environmental and genetic factors and there are many different kinds of canc...er that can range in how aggressive or common they are -Dogs and cats can develop cancer at any point in their life -Overall, 1 in 4 dogs and cats will develop cancer in their lifetime -Cancer is the leading cause of death in both dogs and cats *phew* These are hard truths to read, but we know you love your pet and want to keep them as happy and healthy as possible. That’s also why we want to share some signs of cancer that you can watch for: 1. Swollen lymph nodes 2. A growing or changing lump 3. Distended abdomen 4. Unexplained weight loss 5. Unexplained bleeding 6. Dry coughing 7. Unexplained lameness 8. Excessive vomiting or diarrhea 9. Straining to urinate 10. Oral odor Please do your pet-loving friends a favor and share this information with them! You can either tag them in the comment below or click the share button and share this post with them directly or on your timeline!

We understand that not everybody is ready or able to adopt a shelter pet. However, there are plenty of ways you can help the shelter-pet community by volunteering your time or asking your local shelter what items they may need to help care for their animals while they wait to find their forever home. If you’re the forever home of a shelter pet, celebrate, today, by sharing pictures of your adopted pet on social media using #AdoptAShelterPetDay and tagging us so we can celebrate with you!
